This is an Illinois Capital Development Board project.The State Armory Building is a 7 level 92,000 ft² historical building North of the State Capital Building. It was abandoned and unoccupied for approximately15 years. The project consisted of a complete remodel and level expansion of the building. Construction cost for this project is $120 M.

Project Features:
· Project was designed for LEED Silver.
· The State of Illinois is going Green, so all HVAC and Plumbing systems were all electric.
· Floor to floor height between levels posed a challenge when trying to run new duct work.
· HVAC was a variable air volume (VAV) system with hot water reheats.
· Multiple electric hot water heaters and boilers to provide system backups.
· Chilled water system consisted of multiple water-cooled chillers and roof mounted open system cooling towers.
· Whole building water filtration system added for equipment and piping longevity.
· New fire pump, control panel and complete piping/sprinkler system added for the entire facility.
· Replacement of existing storm water pumps throughout basement level of facility for the removal of groundwater.
· New electrical service fed from 12.47kV Capitol Complex Loop
· Address able voice fire alarm system
· Stand by rated emergency generator
· LED based networked lighting controls with dimming.
· Building-Level Energy Metering provided.
· Solar arrays installed on the roof to meet LEED Silver goal
